After a Monday of client check in feedback filled with comments of feeling emotional, bloated and fluffy from multiple women it sparked me to talk about the effects of the full moon being we just had one 48hrs ago.
If you have done much research into the lunar cycles you may be aware of how much a full moon can affect us but you may have never heard of lunar cycles and be completely un aware of how each moon phase can have a different effect on you, if this is you, I highly encourage you to read on.
While some people may feel no effects, some may have not yet realised the effects and some will be aware their menstrual cycle, bad/sad moods, weight/fluid gain coincidently coincidence with full moons (or maybe not quite so coincidentally)
We all know the moon has an effect on the tides right?
And most of us are aware our bodies are made up of a very large percentage of water. So the theory that the moon also impacts us makes sense.
During the full moon it is quite likely we'll hold onto more water, which may make the scale weight increase. We might look puffy. We might feel bloated.
There is an old story from back in the day that talks of during the full moon men would hunt for food because of the increased light, leaving their woman alone and no need for the chance of getting pregnant. So nature would have it that their menstrual phase would fall then. This cycle is something passed down from generation to generation. Leaving a lot of woman in sync with the moons cycle.
Weather the above is fact or fiction, I know, now that I’m a lot more aware of things going on in my body that my moods, cycle, fluid retention etc do generally fall coinciding with the full moons.
And I often see it with clients in their feedback - it was definitely a common theme this full moon.
In terms of moonology (if you are interested in learning more about lunar cycles and working with the magic of the moon, there is a great book called "MOONOLOGY" - Yasmin Boland) the full moon is part of the yang cycle - energy is out there and feelings are on display.
It's the time when emotions come to surfcae to be dealt with, so this is why you may often find yourself quite emotional. Whatever emotions you have been hiding away for the last month are likely to surface. Instead of forcing them away, I encourage you to embrace them and release them or else they are likely to just keep re-appearing. We have to feel to heal.
In terms of astrology, the moon is associated with feelings, in a symbolic sense, as the moon grows fuller, so do our feelings, hence the peak of emotions during a full moon.
If this all new info to you, drop me a comment and let me know what you think.
Have you noticed any of the above things around the full moon?
